“Zuhause / at home” explores contemporary artistic perspectives on living, shelter and accommodation. Paintings, photographs, drawings, sculptures, video works and installations by 20 contemporary artists revolve around the home as a place, but also around the feeling of being at home. They focus on the dream of owning one’s own home, the loss of a home, the housing market, the connection between living and ownership, the home as a place of family life but also of loneliness, and the existential human need to have a place to sleep. Sometimes playful and light-hearted, sometimes with a socially critical edge, and at times autobiographically inspired, they offer multi-layered perspectives on a highly topical set of issues that affect us all.
